Local Activists plan 'Not My President Day' Protest of Mitt Romney in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI, OH - Community leaders have organized a protest of GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney's visit to the Queen City on Monday, February 20 at 4:30pm in front of the Great American Tower in downtown Cincinnati.
"Mitt Romney holding $2,500 per person fundraiser at the Great American Tower is a perfect example of exactly who he is and who he represents," said Becky Williams, President of SEIU District 1199. "While Romney is hobnobbing on the rooftop with his wealthy donors hosted by American Financial Group, ordinary Ohioans are struggling to find work and provide for their families."
Event organizers feel that the former Gov. Romney represents the wealthiest 1% of Americans and his fundraiser at this venue is further evidence of his remarks that he is 'not concerned about the very poor.' The co-host for the fundraiser is S. Craig Lindner, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Co-President and Director of American Financial Group, Inc. whose total compensation package in 2010 topped $8 million.
