Description

A Public Division Coordinator at SEIU District 1199 WV/KY/OH is responsible for:

• Leading Administrative Organizers in strategic and tactical decision-making on Union campaigns
• Negotiating complicated collective bargaining agreements to achieve Union goals
• Representing the Union in meetings with Chapter management, community organizations and other settings
• Meeting the objectives of Divisional and Union program

Qualifications

• A passion for justice, a willingness to learn, the ability to work hard with irregular hours and the ability to travel frequently.
• Exemplary proficiency in interpersonal communication, listening, conflict resolution and organizing persuasion
• High level of proficiency in campaign organizing practices
• Ability to lead teams of diverse groups of staff and members and ability to identify, train and develop members and staff for leadership roles
• High level proficiency in collective bargaining, contract language, arbitration and relevant state or federal labor practices
• Computer skills, basic business math and professional writing skills a must
